Following fifteen months of construction, the five turbines at Seamer Wind Farm opened for business in November 2012. The wind farm ‘s turbines are situated on land owned by three neighbouring farms located between the villages of Seamer and Hilton. Hilton is in the civil parish of the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and has an estimated population of around 400 while Seamer is in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England, with an estimated population of 566. Despite their proximity to Teesside, the villages have a real rural feel, and there are a number of well-used public footpaths in the surrounding area. The wind farm ‘s turbines are rated at just over 2MW, giving the site an installed capacity of 10.25MW with the ability to generate enough energy to power .
