Our directors oversee the financial health of Nadara and ensure our business is run in a way that cares for all stakeholders.
Our Board of directors is composed of executive and non-executive members, working together to guide the management team to set the company’s strategy and direction.
Carlos Guinand
Chairman
Carlos Guinand is an entrepreneur and one of the founders of Sonnedix, a global solar Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a proven track record in delivering high-performance cost competitive solar photovoltaic plants to the market.
He currently serves as the company’s Chairman of the Board, managing all aspects of the company’s governance and performance. He has been instrumental in setting the strategic direction and growth of the company, especially when it comes to providing his knowledge of international governance and operational issues.
Most recently, Carlos was appointed as non-executive Chairman of Ventient Energy, a sister company of Sonnedix, and Europe’s largest independent onshore wind power generator with a presence in six European countries.
Over the course of his career, Carlos has gained wide-ranging expertise across industries; he has been a successful entrepreneur in various businesses over the last 20 years and has gained significant experience overseeing a portfolio of private equity investments in South America and Europe. Carlos attended Law School at UCAB Venezuela.
Toni Volpe
Chief Executive Officer
Toni has been a CEO in the energy sector for over 20 years, holding several management and board positions in Europe and the US.
Before becoming our CEO at Nadara’s launch in in 2024, Toni led the expansion of Renantis in Europe and the US, as well as the integration project that brought Renantis and Ventient Energy together under the Nadara brand.
Toni began his professional career at Decathlon in France, before moving into management consultancy in 1998 at Bain & Company in Milan. He transitioned to the energy sector in 2004, joining Enel Group in Rome, before becoming CEO and Chairman of Enel Green Power North America in 2005 where he led the company’s diversification into geothermal, solar, mini-hydro, wind, and biomass.
In 2020 Toni started a two-year stint on the Board of Directors of WindEurope and in 2021 he was awarded CEO of the year – Green Energy at the CEO Awards, hosted by Forbes.
Jorge Martínez
Chief Growth Officer
Jorge Martínez is a renewable energy executive with more than two decades of experience delivering fully integrated, commercially viable energy solutions. Throughout his career, Jorge has developed deep expertise in renewable technologies – including solar, wind, biogas, and fuel cells – as well as extensive knowledge of power sector regulations, market entry strategies and stakeholder engagement.
Before joining Nadara, Jorge served as Executive Director at Cero Generation, a leading solar and battery storage developer, where he led engineering, grid integration, construction, and HSQE. Prior to that, he led technical and development areas at Macquarie Capital in the US and Europe. Earlier in his career he worked at SunPower, Tecnicas Reunidas and Gamesa.
Over the course of his career, Jorge played a key role in delivering more than 4 GW of installed capacity across the Americas, EMEA and APAC, helping to scale complex infrastructure across multiple markets and regulatory environments.
Jorge has built his career in fast-paced, international settings, including five years in the United States. This global perspective, combined with his track record of execution, makes him well placed to lead Nadara’s growth strategy, focused on delivering our pipeline, unlocking value from our assets, and expanding optionality to maximise long-term value.
Jorge holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, specialising in energy from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid and a Master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Université Libre de Bruxelles. He is passionate about the energy sector, taking a personal interest in renewable energy in particular.

Thomas Leahy
Country Manager for the USA
Thomas is our Country Manager for the USA and CEO of Novis Renewables, an exclusive partnership between Eni and Renantis North America, to develop, own and operate solar, wind and storage in the US.
He has held a variety of positions in the renewable energy industry, including roles at DTE Energy Services, the unregulated subsidiary of DTE Energy, and GE Energy Financial Services, where he focused on renewable energy equity and tax equity investments, including one of the first-ever wind repowering tax equity investments.
Thomas was Renantis North America’s second employee and was intimately involved in the creation, structuring, and execution of the Novis partnership.
Marco Cittadini
Chief Commercial & Downstream Officer
Marco leads Nadara’s teams providing services to third parties (Saet, Energy Team, Vector Renewables) and the team responsible for the management of energy produced, both Nadara’s assets and third parties’ assets.
The purpose of its organisational unit is to leverage competences, market opportunities, and technologies to create valuable services and solutions for Nadara’s investments and its clients.
Before Nadara, Marco held leading roles in Siram (Veolia), Afry, Publicis Sapient, with a strong focus on the delivery of advisory, services, and investments on the energy transition.
He holds a degree in Engineering and a Masters in International Economics from SDA Bocconi in Milan.
Marco Serrão
Chief Human Resources Officer
Marco is a global human resources executive with nearly 20 years of experience leading people and organisational transformation across Europe, Asia, and South America. His career spans senior HR leadership roles in the telecommunications, technology, and energy sectors, where he has consistently driven cultural change, business agility, and strategic alignment between HR and long-term business goals.
Marco has managed large-scale HR operations in complex, multi-market environments, overseeing teams and initiatives impacting over 40,000 employees. He brings deep expertise in talent development, organisational design, agile ways of working, strategic workforce planning, and digital upskilling, working closely with executive leadership to deliver measurable outcomes. He began his career at Siemens in Lisbon and went on to hold pivotal roles at Nokia, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, and Galp.
At Nokia, he led HR for global R&D teams and played a key role in post-merger integration. At Vodafone, he supported global technology departments and later led the agile digital transformation in Italy. At Deutsche Telekom, he shaped the people strategy for the European region, embedding a purpose-driven culture and scaling agile practices. More recently, at Galp, he led the company´s cultural transformation (new purpose, values and EVP) and professionalisation of the HR & Spaces department.
Marco holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Psychology in Leadership and Innovation, from the University of Lisbon, and a post-graduate specialisation in Digital Transformation, from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Fluent in five languages, he brings a strong cross-cultural perspective and a passion for building future-ready organisations.
Bruce Phillips
Independent Director
Bruce Phillips is a Senior Advisor at the NorthBridge Group, a leading economic and strategic consulting firm serving clients in the U.S. electric and natural gas sectors, including regulated utilities, competitive generators, and other companies and organisations active in the energy space.
In over 30 years of consulting, he has advised companies in the electric utility, merchant power, private equity, technology development, power marketing, natural gas pipeline and gas marketing industries, as well as government agencies and non-profit organisations. His recent work has focused on electric generation markets, design of greenhouse gas policies and the deployment of low-carbon energy infrastructure at scale.
Bruce is Co-Chair of the Advisory Board of the Yale Center for Business and the Environment and serves on the Board of Directors of the Clean Air Task Force, a non-profit organisation working to advance technologies and policies needed to achieve a zero-emissions, high-energy planet at an affordable cost. He received a B.A. from the College of the Atlantic, an M.F.S. from Yale School of the Environment, and an M.B.A. from the Yale School of Management.
