Westfield Wind Farm is located on a ‘brownfield ‘ site at the former Westfield open-cast coal mine which closed in 1998. The site was previously one of the largest open-cast mines in the UK and is now earmarked for an ambitious redevelopment. Westfield lies approximately 3.62 km west south west of Glenrothes and 13.40 km north east of Dunfermline. The wind farm was constructed by Infinis with works beginning in August 2012 and completing in April 2013. The wind farm is administered from a control building located within the site boundary. Westfield ‘s 4 turbines are rated at 2.5MW and the site has an installed capacity of 10MW, generating enough energy to power.

Wingates Wind Farm is situated on land that ‘s currently a mix of rough grazing and young, deciduous forest. It ‘s approximately 6km West of Longhorsley in Northumberland and accessed from the U4051 after it turns off the A697 at Longhorsley. Construction at the site began in July 2012 with Wingates ‘ 6 turbines coming into service in March 2013. The turbines are rated at 2.5MW, giving the site an installed capacity of 15MW and the ability to generate enough energy to power.
