Bears Down Wind Farm is located in Cornwall approximately 1.5 km east south east of the village of St Eval. The wind farm opened in September 2001 having originally been developed by Bonus Energy A/S and was operated by Siemens Power Generation under a framework agreement until March 2008. The wind farm straddles the boundary of North Cornwall and Restormel District Councils and the turbines occupy the area from Denzell Downs in the south to Bears Downs reservoir in the north. The eastern boundary is demarcated by the Mawgan in Pydar parish limits. Its 16 turbines are rated at 600kW and have the capacity to generate 9.6 megawatts of power.

Beinn Ghlas Wind Farm is situated amongst the hills of the Barguillean Estate near Taynuilt in Argyll. The site‘s 14 turbines sit within an area of grazing land and began commercial operations in May 1999. The 14 Siemens Bonus turbines are rated at 600 kW giving the wind farm an installed capacity of 8.4 MW.
The current operational wind farm has the potential to operate safely and efficiently for significantly longer than was originally intended, as set out in the life extension application which was consented in 2022.
Nadara has now submitted a [planning application](https://publicaccess.argyll-bute.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?keyVal=SZWXXMCHK6T00&activeTab=summary) to replace the existing wind turbines at Beinn Ghlas with more modern, higher producing machines. The planning application has been validated by Argyll and Bute Council, planning reference 25/01240/PP.
